Description
How do I change the Card Verification Value (CVV/CVV2) settings in Paya Exchange?
Resolution
After signing into Paya Exchange, launch the Virtual Terminal mini-app to update the settings. The best way to do this is to use the Settings option, located in the top right of the page. Select 'Risk Controls' from a pop-up window and look for the options labeled 'CVV Settings', 'Advanced CVV Options', 'Apply CVV Options to', and 'CVV for Shopping Cart Interface'. You must be signed in as an Administrative User.
Advanced CVV Options -- This option controls if the Virtual Terminal will automatically void transactions based on the CVV and, if so, which ones.
- The first selection is 'None' and the Virtual Terminal will take no action based on the CVV response.
- The second selection is 'Require CVV Exact Match', and 'Void All Non-Matches'. The Virtual Terminal will void all transactions unless an 'M' (exact match) is returned for the CVV.
- The third selection is 'Require CVV Attempt', and 'Void CVV Declines'. The Virtual Terminal will not void any transactions unless an 'N' (no match) is returned for the CVV.
Apply CVV Options to -- This option can be set to Domestic, International, or both. It determines whether the Advanced CVV Options (above) are applicable to only domestic or international cards, or to both.
Please Note: Advanced CVV Options only apply to transactions processed through the Paya Virtual Terminal or Shopping Cart.
CVV for Shopping Cart Interface -- This option controls whether the CVV field on your Shopping Cart's checkout page is 'Required' or 'Optional'. By default, the checkbox is empty and the field is optional; check the box and save your changes to make it required.
Please Note: Making the CVV field required simply means that the customer using your Shopping Cart must enter some number in order to proceed.
