    Description

Why doesn't my card swiper work with my Paya Mobile Payments app?

    Resolution

Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

    Android:

    1. Please check our supported devices list to ensure your mobile device is compatible with the G5X and G4X card readers.

    2. Verify that the card reader is connected. If the reader is not fully connected to the headphone jack; the card reader icon at the top of the screen will have a line through it.

    3. Ensure the Media volume is set to maximum. On your Android device, tap Settings, Sounds and Vibration, Volume. Set the slider under Media to the far right.

    4. You may need to remove your device from its case or use an extension cable to connect the card reader. There will be an audible click when the reader is completely connected.

    5. When swiping, the magnetic strip on the card should be facing towards the thicker side of the card reader.

    Apple:

    1. Please check our supported devices list to ensure your mobile device is compatible with the G5X and G4X card readers.

    2. Sage Mobile Payments requires permission to access the microphone. On your Apple device, tap Settings, Privacy, Microphone and tap the slider next to the app labeled Sage to move it to the ON position.

    3. Verify that the card reader is connected. If the reader is not fully connected to the headphone jack; the card reader icon at the top of the screen will have a line through it.

    4. Ensure the headphone volume is set to max and this should adjust automatically when you begin to swipe the card.

    5. You may need to remove your device from its case or use an extension cable to connect the card reader. There will be an audible click when the reader is completely connected.

    6. When swiping, the magnetic strip on the card should be facing towards the thicker side of the card reader.
