How to increase a credit card transaction when adjusting an Auth-Only or processing a Force transaction

How to increase a credit card transaction when adjusting an Auth Only or processing a Force transaction

    Description

How much can I increase a credit card transaction when I am adjusting an Auth Only or processing a Force transaction?

    Resolution

A transaction should be settled for no more than 15% of the original authorization amount. This applies when using the "Force" transaction method, and when using the "Adjust" feature of the Virtual Terminal to finalize an "Auth Only" transaction. The Virtual Terminal will accept adjustments that are greater than 15%; however, the merchant runs the risk of the funds being held or rejected by the issuing bank or the bankcard association.

If the merchant is assigned one of these Merchant Category Codes, the limit is raised to 20%:
