    How to resolve an Invalid Date error message when using a valid expiration date through the Sage Exchange Desktop

    Description

    I am receiving an Invalid Date error using a valid expiration date through the Sage Exchange Desktop. How do I correct this?


    Resolution

    This error will occur when language and region settings in Simply Accounting and Business Vision are incorrect. To correct this issue please follow the steps listed below.

    1. Go to your Start Menu
    2. Click on the Control Panel
    3. Clock, Language, and Region
    4. Region and Language
    5. Formats tab must be set to French, Canada, or Spanish (United States) and not French (France), Spanish (Spain), or Spanish (Puerto Rico),
    6. Please make sure the 'Short Date' is set to M/D/YYY
    7. The administrative tab should be set as: ‘Current language for non-Unicode programs’ must be set to ‘English (United States)’. 
      1. You may need Administrative rights for this setting.
    8. Restart the Sage Exchange Desktop for the change to take effect (if the change does not take effect, try restarting the PC).

    Windows XP

    1. In the Windows XP standard Start menu, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
      In the Windows XP classic Start menu, click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.

    2. Double-click Regional and Language Options

      • Select 'Customize' to change to the 'Regional Options' tab and change the dropdown to French (Canada) or Spanish (United States)not French (France), Spanish (Spain), or Spanish (Puerto Rico).

      • Please make sure the 'Short Date' is set to M/D/YYY

      • Select the Advanced tab and make sure the ‘Language for non-Unicode programs’ must be set to ‘English (United States)’.

        • You may need Administrative rights for this setting.
