How long are authorizations valid?
Resolution
When a transaction is authorized, you have up to 7 calendar days to settle it. If the transactions are not settled, they will be moved to expired status. Most financial institutions hold funds for up to 7 calendar days before they release the money back into the cardholder’s available balance.
Although the transaction(s) expire within 7 days, the Approval Code is still valid for 30 days. You still have the option to offline the transaction without resubmitting the sale, but you may be subject to paying higher transaction fees if the money is not held at the Financial Institution.
If you have any questions regarding fees please submit a ticket and we will be in touch with you shortly.
