AT&T 3G Network Deactivation
Effective February 2022, all 3G devices must be upgraded to a 4G solution as the 3G network will be deactivated. Merchants that do not upgrade will no longer be able to process GPRS transactions after the network deactivation.
Impacted customers will need to upgrade their terminals to a Tellium TETRA Move 5000, or use their current wireless terminals (VeriFone Vx680 or Ingenico iWL255) as ethernet, or dial-up connections only.
Customers that do not upgrade, will no longer be able to process wireless transactions.
- The VX680 can still be used with dongle or base equipment as a dial or Ethernet terminal
- The iWL255 can still be used with the base equipment as a dial or Ethernet terminal
- The Ingenico Tellium TETRA Move 5000 will replace Verifone VX680 GPRS and Ingenico iWL255 terminals.
Note: Impacted customers may not be able to process transactions should their point of sale device not be updated. If these devices have been updated, it may still be necessary for the SIM Card to be deactivated.
