    Revised: TSYS Summit Host Capture Enhancements

    Background

    TSYS will be adding new functionality to Summit Host Capture. The enhancements are all optional and you can find a summary below.

    Outline of Changes being Implemented:

    On February 18, 2023, TSYS Acquiring Solutions is adding new functionality to Summit Host Capture. You can find more information on the functionalities below:


    Force Close Opt-Out: An option to disable the 46-hour automatic batch close process when no closure time is set. 


    TSYS Express Options:

    • Unchecked (Default Value): Open batches are automatically closed.
    • Checked: Open batches are not automatically closed.


    MMS Options:

    • N (Default Value): Open batches are automatically closed.
    • Y: Open batches are not automatically closed.


    Systems and screens with the new terminal-level field:

    • The Terminal Details screen in TSYS Express and TSYS Express XML.
    • The Host Capture Options screen in MMS.


    Commercial Card Capture: The option to enable settlement of all card types in the same batch of transactions, including business and commercial cards. 


    TSYS Express Options: 

    • Unchecked (Default Value): Business and Commercial cards are held out of the current batch until the next batch closure unless additional data is provided in which case they will be included in the current batch with all other card transactions.
    • Checked: Business and Commercial cards are included in the same batch closure as all other card transactions.


    MMS Options:

    • N (Default Value): Business and Commercial cards are held out of the current batch until the next batch closure unless additional data is provided in which case they will be included in the current batch with all other card transactions. 
    • Y: Business and Commercial cards are included in the same batch closure as all other card transactions. 


    Systems and screens with the new terminal-level field:

    • The Terminal Details screen in TSYS Express and TSYS Express XML.
    • The Host Capture Options screen in MMS.




    Selective Debit Reject (SDR): Additional options to restrict debit and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) returns. 

    Currently, the options for restricting debit and EBT returns in TSYS Express are:

    • N (Not Participating): No BIN-level restrictions for debit and EBT returns.
    • Y (Gen2 Only): Disables debit and EBT returns for transactions through the Summit Host Capture Network.

    The new additional Summit Host Capture options are:

    • S (Summit Host Capture Only): Disables debit and EBT returns for transactions through the Summit Host Capture Network.
    • B (Both Summit Host Capture and Gen2): Disables debit and EBT returns for transactions through the Summit Host Capture Network. 


    New fields in TSYS Express, TSYS Express XML, and the Merchant Management Systems (MMS) support the new functionality. 


    Client Action

    No actions are required as a result of this implementation. To use the new functionality, update a terminal profile using the new values for the Force Close Opt Out and Commercial Card Capture features. To select a new SDR option at a Bank Identification Number (BIN) level, contact your Relationship Manager.
